Yesterday I was reminded of the importance of taking the time for yourself. To open your eyes and observe your surroundings.

If you end up somewhere alone with a slight fear of boredom just explore. With all the concrete I before thought was so not interesting morphed the most beautiful things and forms I've seen in a long time.

I felt eager to see more and more but my tired body forced me to sit down and feed.

Why did I fear before the idea of dining alone? As I entered the zone of "Vesa" time and munched away my sushi I felt content and stupid for not doing that before. It wasn't sad to eat alone, spend the day alone. It was rather liberating and something I gave to myself.

No words or fuss on which street to walk or where to eat. It was just as I wanted. Perfect.

I will continue documenting places I end up as I roam the streets - alone.

Apologies for being under the radar for a while.

Last time I was tormented by choices considering my life, London, occupation and love.

I am glad to inform that yes, I have a full-time job and I like it. Soon my financial issues are just a memory.

I have been smacked in the face by love, revisited the past and and got all the sealed wounds cut right open. Kept myself in a illusion of revival of a greatest love I have ever had just to discover that those wishes would go down the drain.

I have been pushed so hard against the wall that I thought that I can't endure anymore. Luckily that didn't happen. I thank for one gift that I've been given. The gift of not giving up no matter how much I would want to give up!

I am ready now for a new chapter in my life. New work and the feeling of being part of this society and having a structure in my everyday life. Letting go of the past how bitter sweet it was, how bitter sweet it is. I loved with all of my heart, it wasn't enough. I can deal with that. Now I feel I am ready for another love if it would come my way!

I am so sick and tired of feeling bad about myself because of someone or something. I choose to play the leading role of my own life now and refuse to live for other's in the sense that I forget myself.

Everyone says to me that I am a special boy, now it is time for me to start believing it myself!

I can go as far as I want to!

If I get sad and beaten down I will continue getting up and keep on going! Just watch me fly!

It may be bitter in the start but sweeter in the end!

Since I have been quite stressed lately I find it relaxing if relieve the stress in the form of creativity. I have been roaming around my closet for weeks cursing the fact that I do not like most of clothes and i do not have the money to go and buy new ones.
So I thought I am going to try to customize every single garment that I do not use as it is. So I did!

Most of them I produced tonight. Some of them I did 2 weeks ago, some in the beginning of this week. Anyways as seen below there is a few updated garments so I loved to play with the idea of mini collection. All the clothes have something linking them up with one another creating me a underlined style for this spring. Only one of a kind pieces what I love. Now days seasonal trends do not make my heart skip a beat. I will stick to my monochromatic ways, textures and movement.

I have seriously started to question my life here in London.

I guess it has been building up slowly. London is one of the most fascinating place to be at but the magic soon wears of when you find yourself spending your days counting pennies in a apartment you can not afford.

Ever stopping flow of reminders of unpaid bills are starting to get the best of me.
As If I would be a prisoner in my own life. I guess the worst thing is to feel lonely most of the time since I still haven't got a job. As if I am not even a part of the community. Like there is no purpose for doing this.

Most of the time I question myself and ask how did I end up in this space between. I have always been active and working hard towards my goals, but it is starting to wear me down mentally. How hard I would try it doesn't seem to lead anywhere.

I have been doing loads of things here which are creative and towards the place where I would love to be. Situations always unveil to be a form of misuse towards me. Like I would have something that they need, I give it in the believe I am receiving something as well. How stupid of me. Of course it doesn't work like that in today's world. It is more likely use or be used. Well I won't blame anyone for my problems, I guess it is my own fault to be so naive. I should know better by now. I just want to believe the good in people at the end of the day.

Unfortunately that doesn't pay the bills or bring food to the table.

I have started to question am I sticking onto my guns for just the reason that if I ought to choose to go back home I would be thought as a failure or even worse a quitter. Is that illusion really worth of fighting for. I think not.

I would rather feel happy regardless what someone would think of me. Have I ever cared what others think of me. No, so why would do know?

I guess the tables have changed in the sense of not expecting anything anymore of this city or the people in it. In the beginning everything was new and I had this anticipation of the jobs I am going to get and things I would do. That excitement is not there anymore. The reality has set in and I find myself even more "depressed" than I have ever felt. More lonely that I have ever felt.

London is great place to be when you have money, great income or an amazing job. If these components are absent it can become like a hell on earth. I am more close to the gates to that realm than ever.

I am turning 26 in the summer and I have never felt this disappointed in my self. I should be laying down the foundation bricks of my life going forward of any sort of establishment, but no. I feel like I have taken leaps and bounds backwards feeling as incompetent as I was around 15-teens still living under my mum's roof.

Not really uplifting really.

I really wouldn't want to go just yet but unfortunately the reality is starting to point towards that direction. I guess the idea is sinking in and I find myself feeling rather calm about it.

I refuse to continue to hurt myself because of sheer stupidity. I am willing to suffer for the grand prize, but now the prize is either to spend the last pounds to a ticket home than ending up spending those pounds on 1 pound ready meals and living on the streets.

The harsh reality is that if you do not have the support network in this city and for some reason fall in between you will find yourself sleeping under the bridges.

I am saying this since I know people who have to do that. From that situation the way up is long, even too long for some. It breaks my heart. If that would be an end result of my ventures in London not any of my talents could pull me up from that. Honestly it is an option I do not even want to see through. That much I do not love London. I think no one should!

Just some thoughts. I have to make a choice soon. Well I guess it is going to clear out soon. It has to.

Which city is better for now? Helsinki or London?
That is the question.

WIDE OPEN / LCC gives you Foundation Art & Design student's final works featuring my 2 dear bitches AYA BRACE & CAROLINE NORDIN aka PENNY CAROLINE!

Yesterday evening I was cordially invited to a private preview opening of the London College of Communication Foundation & Art Student's Final work exhibition which goes under the title WIDE OPEN.

I had 2 good reasons to attend the venue - AYA BRACE & CAROLIN NORDIN. Both amazing young ladies. One from Finland and one from Sweden. Plus these 2 are skilled and talented photographers they are also my close friends here in London town.

The third reason was to just see my picture on the wall since they both featured me in their final work :D ! Girls I am very honored that you asked me to be part of your stellar work.

I did venture around this multi floored maze like space just to inhale some art in genereal since it has been so long I've done this kind of coverage for my blog. It felt good to be back on that track. Actually first proper art / design event I attend which can be compared to the great ones back home in Helsinki.

Anyways some of the works were quite impressive for been done by foundation students who are actually starting the BA programs next fall and unfortunately some works were so bad that that it made the viewer question why the pieces were there in the first place.

I still believe in forgiveness as long that won't be served in their BA final exhibitions.

I believe it is time to set sail a new column about values and integrity. It has been a quite long time since I've had the time or the right state of mind to actually enter my mind and the issues causing a storm inside my head.

Well it has been rather interesting seven months of a starting a new life in London. It has been filled with laughter, cries, surprises, success and disappointment. As a whole that what life is all about. I'd never expect it to be smooth sailing or constant emotions of content. There is just this one thing I do not seem to accept or understand.

That is the values and integrity. My experience towards this issue comes in the form of job-seeking. After over 500 job applications later I found myself working as a hairstylist on a weekend basis. I love the job with all my heart and the working atmosphere and the whole concept is beyond amazing. Without having the chance to work there for all these weekends London would have probably just spat my broke ass self out of the system.

I felt a great feeling of things coming together since I had been looking for a job to fill my days from Monday to Friday. I had a try out in this salon in Covent Garden. I was told I got the job and they would be in contact during the same day. It is Thursday now the call is yet to be received. Basically I got the whole picture yesterday and realized it is not going to happen. They stood me off.

I was just so smacked in the head that some people do not even have the integrity to call me and eat up their words and tell me "I am sorry but we decided not to continue with you etc." I have dealt with rejections all my life and that is fine but never had to figure it out myself that I've been rejected. Where has the backbone gone with these people. First they call you say please come, yes you did it. you got the job and then just leave it. Wasting people's time and have them in a believe that they have been hired. In a weird way I am actually thankful that I didn't start working with people who handle business in this sense since that means there would been problems with them later on for sure.

Nevertheless yesterday was crowned with despair when I received a phone call from my weekend job. "We have had to close the salon for now, do not know if we open again or not" I couldn't even react to it to be honest all I was just thinking that here we go again, back to square one. The fact which pisses me of that the reason why the salon is getting closed is because a misbehavior of another party not the owners. Integrity issue once again. People who don't play with the rules always drag the people who actually work hard and play by the rules in to the gutter.

Something has changed though. Regardless of the constant stress of income and ever changing issues I find myself grown in the sense that I endure stress to a great extend. I do not freak out like I used, like I would know that it will work out as long as I keep on going. There is always a way. My way is to make it with all cost and then look back and say to myself.

"Well done Vesa, you did it and you fucking deserve it!"

I look around and see a great amount of amazing people around me who have given just all the support that one could ever wish for.

That is wealth that cannot be measured in euros or pounds. It is priceless!

Justice will prevail and as one of my dear friends always tells me

"Vesa cream will always rise on top!"

Hello my name is Vesa Peräkylä hailing from Helsinki Finland . I am the newest addition to the creative space of 10 GALES. I am the one who is stepping into the master hairstylist Yuya's boots.

My history lies in high fashion in the forms of modeling, hairstyling and make-up arts. I wanted to create this installation as a homage to the ever inspiring concept of 10 GALES.

I am showcasing the transformation from a word "normal" into a extreme beauty. This project goes by the name 10 GALES CREATIVE. It is the first of the visions that I will put out there and I am proud that the virgin trip will take place here.

Designer Kirsi Nisonen creates accessories that dazzle with luxury, drama, danger and seduction. After all of this trouble and stress my I've endured lately seems reached it's limit.
You probably wonder what the hell is that supposed to mean?

I guess when one hit's the rock bottom the only way it's up since you can only go so low.
I am glad to manifest that my rockslide days seem to be over. All of a sudden I find myself in a whirlwind where everything seems to fall into place.

Tomorrow I will be working with Zo, the gentleman who booked me for the LAURENCEAIRLINE shoot which will be soon featured in Dazed Digital. I will be doing the hair and make-up for a high end look book which I will be posting more about later.

Saturday I will be doing another look book with a photographer called Dorota Mulczynska.
This job landed in my lap by my new boss Jalle from 10 GALES who called me
if I'd be interested about doing it since Dorota had asked him if he knows anyone
who can do hair.
After this morning shoot I will be heading to 10 GALES to start of there. First day
of cutting hair.

Sunday I'll be working at 10 GALES cutting hair again all day and even might do
a modeling job for EMMY COLLINS LONDON.

The shoot is yet to be confirmed whether it takes place on Sunday or Monday
morning.

I am completely amazed and speechless. It just kind of happened.
I feel so happy and even though it has been rough on me I always knew
I can do this no matter what everyone else said. Just kept on pushing.

Well this is only the beginning of my new life in London, well see where it takes
me.

Sometimes the only way is to take a risk and leap into the unknown. It may be
worth it ;)

Just believe!

DEAD END?

As you know I've always been honest what happens in my life. As there have been good times, there has to space for the bad.

For the past few days I have overloaded every single brain cell in my head to come up with a solution for my income problems. The problem is that there is no income at the moment.

Even though I've sent approximately 80 cvs / job applications I have not been successful. I do not know if it's something I do wrong or is there just a black cloud following me since I have not managed to nail a solid job for over a year and a half.

I do have to say that the projects I've been able to do have been beyond amazing, but they do lose value since they do not bring food to my table. Artisticly I've been more satisfied but I have come across a thought that is my creativity the only thing what is the problem. People like me love to work with me but they don't have the money to pay for my input which becomes a problem for me. I'd rather be an artist with a home instead of an artist who lives on the streets of London since there is no money to pay the rent.

This constant stress about money has taken me borderline mental when it comes to my spiritual well being. I am just asking " is this never going to change? " Am I just on the road to become a "has been"?
The thought of having to be depended on others since I can not handle it myself makes me want to vomit.

Am I just believing on something which is never meant to happen? By even writing that phrase gives me the grinch since I've invested everything on my dreams and goals yet the reality is that my dreams and goals are not supporting me financially or even spiritually anymore.

I just don't want to get depressed anymore to the point I can't even get myself out of the bed.

I have fought so hard and I will continue to fight. I am just not sure am I suppose to win this battle.

Have I reached a dead end?

I guess time will tell.
